Thomas/Wright,
Inc. prepared the design plans and specifications for the Marine Corps
Camp Pendleton Horno Area Athletic Fields project. The new athletic fields
replace an older athletic complex that is being razed to build new
military housing. The fields include an adult softball field and a
combination soccer/football field.
The
project included a parking lot, stands, dugouts, goalposts, a drinking
fountain, fencing, grading, and protection of an existing environmentally
sensitive area. The new fields will have natural grass, an irrigation
system, and lighting. T/WI prepared the specifications using SpecsIntact.
The plans and specifications were prepared so the Navy, if they choose,
can split the work up in such a way that the project can be done with
Navy/Marine personnel and with specialized features contracted out
individually.
