Thomas/Wright, Inc., as subconsultant to Landslide Technology, managed the civil engineering tasks for stabilization projects on Cougar Creek, Lalonde Creek, and Suds Creek in Clark County. Civil engineering tasks include hydraulic modeling, streambed stabilization, grade control structures, habitat enhancements, and permitting. Cougar Creek and Lalonde Creek both have berms that cross the stream channel. Stabilization of these berms is necessary to protect the existing stream channel hydraulics. T/WI is designed new culverts and energy dissipating structures for each of these berms. Suds Creek has experienced high velocity flows that have eroded the bed and banks of the creek. T/WI used grade control structures, grading, a berm, and habitat enhancements to control the erosion and flooding along the creek. T/WI performed hydraulic modeling for all sites to analyze the existing and future flows. |
